Northman Gym is a private Strength training gym and Martial arts studio based in Leigh, Lancashire.
We are fully equipped for weight training, powerlifting, cardiovascular training, circuit training and a multitude of Martial Arts. We host daily classes including Martial Arts and fitness training disciplines.


Northman Gym is the pinnacle of Project Northman - an association of like minded Veterans, Armed forces and Emergency service personnel. We are a not-for-profit gym. All profit generated goes back into improving the standard of facilities, training and wellbeing of our members.

We believe that provision for physical and mental health is lacking within our services, and by improving aspects of physical and mental fitness this will in turn improve the service we provide to the public.

We offer heavily subsidised memberships and classes for members of the Emergency Services, Armed Forces, Veterans and their families - and also for other volunteer agencies such as Mountain Rescue.

Our 3000 square foot facility is equipped with everything you will need to accomplish your goals. From punchbags to cardio machines, huge amounts of weight, and even an area for the kids, we have got you covered.

We run regular classes in Submission grappling / Jiu Jitsu, Kickboxing and Mixed Martial Arts. All our classes follow a comprehensive syllabus and are suitable for everyone including beginners.

We hold regular circuit training sessions, and our qualified personal trainers are always on hand for either advice on technique or a comprehensive personal training plan to ensure you meet your goals.

We are proud to be an official BMABA certified club and we fully support their Fighting Chance charitable foundation. We organise various fundraising events for this and other charities throughout the year, many of which support our Emergency services and Armed Forces.

We are a BJJ Globetrotters affiliate gym (www.bjjglobetrotters.com)and fully support their ethos.
